Tangle Edge "Long Time Since I Saw An Egg / Ambrosia Parallels" 7"
Synesthetic Recordings (2009) - SYRE 027

Kr 60  -  € 5.84

Featuring: Ronald Nygård, Hasse Horrigmoe, Rune Forselv

Description:This new 7" single from legendary Northern Norwegian prog rockers Tangle Edge features two exclusive tracks recorded for radio stations. The A side is an electric piece from 1985, while the B side features an acoustic number from 1991. Limited edition of 200 numbered copies.

"This is a very limited edition 7" record pressed in only 200 copies by the Norwegian instrumental band, Tangle Edge. It features an electric track recorded on the Norwegian radio in 1985 and an acoustic B side which was recorded live on the radio in Narvik, Norway on October 25th, 1991. Long Time Since I Saw an Egg starts the 7" off with a quite psychedelic beginning before the track finds it's feet. Fantastic melodic guitar balanced against Hasse's gentle but heavy bass lines. The synth based like vocals add quite a special feel to the short track at the end. Interesting. Ambrosia Parallels, the B-side features Ronald on acoustic guitar and Hasse on 12 string guitar and this is a beautiful, slightly haunting piece of music. A nice 7" and bound to be quite rare!" - Scott Heller, LowCut Magazine, May 2009

Tangle Edge "Kathamkaram" LP
Synesthetic Recordings (2008) - SYRE 025

Kr 120  -  € 11.67

Featuring: Ronald Nygård, Hasse Horrigmoe, Tom Steinberg

Description:Progressive rock legends from Northern Norway return with their new adventures in free floating psychedelic improvisation, deeply rooted in the early '70s kraut scene. All instrumental experimental acid-guitar based rock, unique in style. Limited edition of 530 copies pressed on 180 gram vinyl packaged in gatefold sleeve printed on 350 gram card stock.

"Tangle Edge returns with their 2nd vinyl release in 3 years. This record features 3 tracks in 34 minutes with a fantastic gatefold sleeve and excellent sound and as always was recorded at the bands studio outside of Narvik. If you are not familiar with this old Norwegian band, they play instrumental progressive, rock, jazz, psychedelic music to challenge the listener. Sit back and relax when you put the needle down for the 17 minute Dance of the Cantharides on side A. it starts slowly as Ronald, Hasse and Tom slowly come together in what will be come quite jazzy. You can hear some hand drums at the beginning of the track. The jam is very much lead by Ronald’s guitar playing as Hasse and Tom interweave (slowly). Ronald really decided to take off ¾ of the way through with some fantastic guitar work. Side B starts off with Xerxes Apposition and some backwards effects start the track and much more intense bass line dominates as Ronald solos over the top. You can hear a synthesizer/electronics at a low level in the background. Fantastic solo by Ronald and he really starts to use some effects the end to modulate his sound. The track dies out with an interesting synthesizer ending. Glass Dryad, a track a little over 8 minutes ends the record. This track is more like the side A track and quite jazzy and focused on Ronald’s lead guitar noodlings (good ones). The band plays in a special focused way that is hard to explain. The end also features some special sounds as the guitar lines fade out over the bass and drum playing. Interesting album. The band has also released a 7" of some classic material from the 80’s in a limited edition of only 200 copies on this same record label. I will review it when I get my copies that I ordered."
